Minahasa Shortwing

Minahasa Shortwing is found only in mountain forests on the Minahasa Peninsula in northern Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is closely related to Great Shortwing and is considered a subspecies of Great Shortwing in the eBird taxonomy. Minahasa Shortwing is one of a small handful of bird species that, as of 2026, has <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://searchforlostbirds.org/news/the-last-unphotographed-birds">never been photographed</a>.
