Archbold's Owlet-nightjar

The last specimen appears to be from the easternmost province in New Guinea (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://portal.vertnet.org/o/anwc/birds?id=a90baeee-7a5f-45a3-8f57-082a876db109">July 1969</a>), although we note that this is outside the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://datazone.birdlife.org/species/factsheet/archbolds-owlet-nightjar-aegotheles-archboldi">mapped distribution</a> for this species.

The last documented record of this species is a photo taken by Bruce Beehler in 1981. Prior to that, the most recent record appears to be a <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://portal.idigbio.org/portal/records/7d8604b8-22ac-49d2-b54b-0a47e314ab7d">specimen </a>collected in September 1960 near Peak Yamin (formerly Mount Goliath) in Papua, Indonesia. (The first version of the Lost Birds list erroneously listed a record from 1969 as the most recent record of this species.)
