Background

Endemic to the mountains of eastern Peru, this cryptic songster is often considered to be a subspecies of the more widespread Rufous-brown Solitaire. Following photographs taken in October 2013, there were no documented records of Peruvian Solitaire until August 2024 when the species was sound recorded by Fabrice Schmitt in Huánuco, Peru.
