Archbold's Owlet-nightjar

The last specimen appears to be from the easternmost province in New Guinea (<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://portal.vertnet.org/o/anwc/birds?id=a90baeee-7a5f-45a3-8f57-082a876db109">July 1969</a>), although we note that this is outside the <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://datazone.birdlife.org/species/factsheet/archbolds-owlet-nightjar-aegotheles-archboldi">mapped distribution</a> for this species.

Although this taxon was originally (2021) considered to represent a species in both of our taxonomies, Archbold's Owlet-nightjar was lumped with Mountain Owlet-nightjar (A. albertisi) in eBird's 2022 <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://science.ebird.org/en/use-ebird-data/the-ebird-taxonomy/2022-ebird-taxonomy-update">taxonomy update</a>.
